Flight Performance UK UPRT Training Instructors are made up of current airline and corporate TRI/TREs, line trainers and industry experts. Collectively the team has operated aircraft from Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Gulfstream, Dassault and Hawker Beechcraft in short, medium and long haul roles.

Our instructors are passionate about training and enhancing the safety of aviation. Between them they have decades of experience providing instruction to pilots at all stages of their careers and have been involved with the implementation and training delivery of UPRT to the airlines and corporate operators since 2015 when it was mandated by EASA.

Captain Tony Brackston

Accountable Manager and Head of Training

Tony first flew at the age of 13 with the Air Training Corps on an Air Experience flight before gaining a gliding scholarship and flying solo at the age of 16. After completing his PPL at Shoreham Tony trained to be a commercial pilot and became a flying instructor and was lucky enough to be awarded a GAPAN scholarship to become an IRI. Progressing to corporate aviation Tony has flown King Airs, Premiers, Lear 45, Falcon 2000 and the Gulfstream G550 in the private, charter and air ambulance roles, he is a CRMI(L) and also held management positions as the Director of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot and Training Manager.

Tony is currently a SFI/SFE on the Falcon 2000 and Gulfstream G450/550 and is actively flying both types whilst continuing to follow his passion of delivering flight instruction on light aircraft.

Tony has been involved with the development and training of instructors in UPRT since 2015 when it was mandated by EASA.

Captain Adrian Read FRAeS

Compliance Monitoring Manager

Adrian learnt to fly at the age 18 and followed the then popular “self improver route” to gaining a Commercial Pilots licence. Building up experience as a flying instructor Adrian was sponsored by Britannia Airways in 1987 to gain a position as a co-pilot on the Boeing 737 fleet. After spending 6 years flying the 737 he then converted to the B757/767 where he gained his command in 2000. Adrian returned to the B737NG in 2012 and holds current TRI/ZFT LIFUS qualifications. Adrian is also qualified on the Falcon 2000EX EASy as an SFI. Adrian has held airline training positions for nearly 20 years.

Adrian is passionate about aviation and instructing and has never let his FI rating lapse. He teaches aerobatics and has competed at national level. He has been teaching UPRT in simulators since it became mandatory and is relishing the challenge of developing and delivering quality, relevant on aircraft training.

Carolin Read

Operations Manager

Carolin gained her Private Pilots Licence (PPL) in 2002 on the Slingsby T67. She has worked in flying school operations previously.
