UPRT Advanced Upset Prevention Recovery Training Course (FCL.745)

Course AIM

The aim of the Advanced Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) is to amplify knowledge and skills in upset prevention and especially upset recovery, with the final objective of exposing students and making them more resilient to psychological and physiological aspects, usually experienced with dynamic upset, which is difficult to be done in a simulator. A course completion certificate will be issued at the end of the course.

Prerequisites

There are currently no pre-entry requirements for the Advanced Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) course, however students of an Air Transport Pilot (ATP) integrated or an Multi Pilot Licence (MPL) training course will need to undergo this Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) course as an integrated part of the course. Additionally, this Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) course will be a prerequisite for the first class or type rating for:

  • Single-pilot aeroplanes operated in multi-pilot operation.
  • Single-pilot high-performance complex aeroplanes.
  • Multi-pilot aeroplanes.

Although Advanced Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) is not mandated for the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) it may be considered by the holder of such licence on a voluntary basis. Nevertheless, Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) course graduates are required to complete the course prior to their first type rating as outlined above.

Course duration

A full-time course will last 3 days, weather dependent. Please note this course is not available on a part time basis.

Flying time

The flight training consists of 3 hours 20 minutes.

Ground school

The course consists of 8 hours instructor lead ground school.
