About
FPT was established in 2017 with the sole aim of enhancing flight safety through the delivery of outstanding and professional training to all.
After many years of being the end user and trainers in the airlines and corporate aviation we decided to bring the lessons we had learnt into the General Aviation and Commercial training arena.
Holding both UK-CAA and EASA ATO approvals we are well placed to deliver Advanced UPRT, Instructor Training, Aerobatics and PPL courses at the highest level. All from our purpose-built facility at Brighton City Airport.
So how do we enhance flight safety:
- By delivering the highest level of training no matter the stage of your career
- By supporting you to be the best you can be
- By focusing on Attitude, Skill and Knowledge
- By understanding the human as well as the machine
- By taking a competency approach to training
- By constant innovation of practices and procedures
- By not being complacent
FPT strongly believes in putting the client at the centre of everything we do, with this in mind FPT has created the A.S.K program for all pilots no matter the stage of their career, private or commercial. This industry driven program focuses on the Pilots Attitude with regards to Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat Error Management (TEM).
It builds on three vital skills, Hand flying, Automation management and Monitoring as well as enhancing the pilots knowledge in areas such as the causes of LOC-I, aerodynamics, human performance and much more.
FPT have selected the Slingsby T67M Firefly as the backbone of its operation. The aircraft is incredibly versatile and provides the perfect aerial classroom for upset prevention recovery training (UPRT), aerobatics, PPL instruction and flight instructor training. The side-by-side seating enables effortless instruction allowing the student to develop their pilot competencies in an environment consistent to that of larger aircraft.
The Slingsby T67M Firefly also provides the perfect environment for an experience flight, the visibility through the bubble canopy allows for some amazing views whether that be in close formation with a friend or manoeuvring over the South Downs or the White Cliffs.
Slingsby T67 Firefly History
Originally produced as the Fournier RF-6, the Slingsbury T67 Firefly is a two-seat aerobatic training aircraft, built by Slingsby Aviation in Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire, England. It has been successfully used by the UK armed forces, where the Royal Air Force used Slingsby T67Ms as their basic trainer between 1995 and 2010. The Slingsby has also been used by the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force, the Royal Jordanian Air Force, and other military training schools around the world for many years. The aircraft has full inverted capability and is stressed to +6/-3 G.

Our highly experienced instructors are passionate about flying but more importantly, passionate about instructing. This enables them to support the client during there time at FPT passing on their valued knowledge and experiences in a relaxed and professional manor that allows the client to exceed their own expectations, developing transferable skills and competencies for life. Many of FPTs clients have become friends and we enjoy hearing about their success and are happy to provide advise and support long after they have completed a course.
